We went with some friends to the Biltmore House today (
http://www.biltmore.com/). It's really amazing how some people lived. Bedroom upon bedroom--beautifully furnished. Handcarved wooden doors. Marble counters and wall covers. We toured all four stories of the house...even the servant's quarters were nicer than a lot of rooms I've seen. In one way, it was really awesome, in another, the extravagance made me sick. Awesome to see how rich people lived in the early part of this century. Sickening to think of how most people in this area lived in the early part of this century...and how many people in other countries live today.
Money is a gift. It should be used wisely, for the help of those in need...either of physical or spiritual help.
A thought...
"By all that has given us advantage over another,--be it education and refinement, nobility of character, Christian training, religious experience,--we are in debt to those less favored; and, so far as lies in our power, we are to minister unto them." (Minstry of Healing)
I'm in debt. I desire to work for others...to help...to spend and be spent.
